Today’s Mortgage Rates in St. Louis
Priced by a local broker, not a call center.

Bonds are holding up extremely well this morning considering the jobs report came in much stronger than expected.
The economy added 162,000 jobs in August, well above forecasts, which would normally be the kind of number that puts a lot more pressure on bonds and mortgage rates. Instead, longer term Treasury yields are holding relatively steady.
I think that is at least an encouraging sign heading into the weekend.
The next big test will be next week’s CPI inflation report. After today’s strong jobs number, inflation could be what ultimately tips the scales on what the Fed decides to do at its September meeting.
For now, bonds taking this jobs report in stride is a small win.

About these rates
Do these change every day?
Yes. Mortgage pricing moves with the bond market, sometimes more than once a day. These are updated each business morning and the time above shows when.
Why are your rates lower than a bank's?
A retail lender stacks a loan officer, branch manager, regional manager and corporate margin into the same loan. As a broker, Sean sets the margin himself and shops wholesale investors, so there are fewer hands in the price.
Will I actually get this rate?
If your loan matches the scenario on the card exactly — loan amount, down payment, credit score and program — then yes, that is the rate you get. Change any one of those and the pricing moves, which is why your number may be higher or lower. The fastest way to find out is a real quote, and it costs nothing.
Is this a rate lock?
No. Rates shown are not locked and can change without notice. A lock happens once you are under contract and choose to lock.
These rates, APRs and monthly payments are current as of 09/04/2026 and may change at any time. We update these each business morning at about 10:00 AM Central, once investor pricing posts. If you are viewing this before 10:00 AM, you are seeing yesterday’s rates — call for today’s. Shown as of Sep 4, 11:17 AM and subject to change without notice. Not a commitment to lend, a rate lock, an offer of credit, or an advertisement of available terms to any individual. Payments shown are principal and interest only and exclude property taxes, homeowners insurance, mortgage insurance and any HOA dues. APR figures marked “est.” are calculated from rate and points and do not include all fees; your Loan Estimate will show your actual figures.
